Navdy head-up display

The Navdy head-up display connects the smartphone via bluetooth with a small folding screen on which navigation data and text messages are projected. All the equipment is attached to the driver’s dashboard. Similar gadgets have been around for a while but the Navdy system raises this concept to a new level: phone calls can be accepted by gesture control – almost like in the new 7 series BMW. Text messages are read out and responses can be compiled via voice control and the location can be communicated. Tweets are also available to the driver via the dictation function.

A built-in infrared camera makes it possible to trigger various functions without having to press buttons: This allows incoming SMS to be simply „wiped“ with the hand. The voice control is based on Siri (iOS) or Google Now (Android). Navidates come from compatible apps.
